"Cross+Word" is a theological battle-shonen set in a world where the spiritual war is no longer invisible. The atmosphere is saturated by The Voices—Ignatian "Movements" that seek to rewrite reality through human consent.
Noel Cross, a quiet Catholic student, wields the OXI (The Refusal)—a power that allows him to negate the "static" of the age. His opposite is Victor "Party" Partytime, a hedonistic zealot who has said "YES" to the spirit of the world. Armed with the literalized weapons of the Reformation—including the regenerative Sola Gratia and the devastating King James greatsword—Victor is on a divine mandate to purge the "idolatry" of the Old Faith.
As the two collide, their rivalry threatens to shatter the very Imago Dei of the world they inhabit.
