The Treasury of Tales series adapts illustrated stories that were published in the 1800s and early 1900s, using the contemporary language and images. The purpose of this series is to help you see (by faith), savor (as all satisfying food to your soul), and sing (in all of life) the beauty of the One True God as he is revealed in the crucified and risen Jesus throughout all of Scripture. This is not an arbitrary goal since the God for whom we—and all things—exist is communicated to his creation with definitive authority in the incarnate Son (John1:14,18), and with climactic finality at the cross (John 8:28, 17:1,5). The implication that derives from this truth is simple and yet, like the wardrobe in C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia, contains worlds of glory within it: if we would know the glory, the beauty, the identity of the One True God, we look to the resurrection-illuminated cross of Jesus Christ. - by Christopher Powers (www.FullOfEyes.com)

The Warning panel 1

John Foster sat at his mahogany desk in his study, surrounded by neat stacks of translated sermons that represented months of intensive work. Each of the six messages had been carefully crafted through prayer and divine inspiration, then painstakingly translated into eight languages beyond English. The Portuguese versions for São Paulo, French for Paris, Spanish for Madrid, German for Berlin, Greek for Athens, Italian for Rome, Polish for Warsaw, and Russian for Moscow were complete, bound in leather folders and ready for the journey that would begin in just three weeks.

The weight of the commission he had received from Christ himself still amazed him. These words would be delivered in nine of the world's greatest stadiums, carrying God's message to hundreds of thousands of people who would attend in person and millions more who would watch through Dimitri's streaming platform. Each sermon was designed to build upon the previous ones, creating a comprehensive call to faithfulness for Christians facing an increasingly hostile world.

John was reviewing his notes for the opening sermon—a message about the reality of divine judgment and the hope of resurrection—when the familiar shimmer of otherworldly light began to fill the room. The temperature dropped noticeably, and the air itself seemed to thicken with supernatural presence.

Raphael materialized before him, magnificent and terrible in his divine authority. The archangel's wings seemed to fill the entire study, and his face radiated the same overwhelming power that had first appeared to John months earlier. When the angel spoke, his voice carried the weight of celestial command.

"John Foster, Prophet of the Most High, hear now the words of warning from the throne of God."

John immediately rose from his chair and bowed his head respectfully. "I am listening, mighty Raphael."

"The Enemy has taken notice of your mission and is marshaling forces to disrupt the delivery of God's messages. You should expect interference from earthly governments who fear the truth you carry. Organized religions that have compromised with worldly powers will oppose you, seeing your words as condemnation of their apostasy. Secret societies and non-governmental organizations—including the Freemasons and other groups that serve darkness—will work to prevent your success."

The angel's words confirmed what John had already suspected. The mysterious Federal Reserve agency that had infiltrated Dimitri's team was likely just the beginning of organized opposition.

"What would you have me do, Raphael?"

"At each venue where you will speak, you must establish a barrier against evil. This barrier shall be placed one hundred and fifty cubits from the walls of each stadium, encompassing the entire structure. Leave only two narrow passages through which those attending may enter—one for the faithful, one for seekers of truth."

John calculated quickly in his mind. One hundred and fifty cubits would be approximately 225 feet, creating a substantial perimeter around each massive stadium.

"Before each event begins," Raphael continued, "you will offer a prayer to the Almighty, and He will establish a visible barrier that no evil may cross. Those who serve darkness, who come with hearts intent on disruption or violence, will find themselves unable to breach the venues. The barrier will repel them, but they cannot enter to cause chaos."

The concept was both miraculous and practical. John had wondered how they would maintain security for events of this magnitude, especially given the opposition they were likely to face.

"There is more," Raphael said, his luminous eyes fixed on John with intensity. "The Lord has decreed that all people on Earth will have the opportunity to hear your words, but He will not force anyone to listen. Free will remains paramount in His plan."

John felt a surge of confusion. "Mighty angel, how is such a thing possible? Our streaming capabilities are extensive, but not every person on Earth has access to the internet or the technology required to watch."

Raphael's expression remained serene. "All things are possible with God, John Foster. Do not concern yourself with the methods by which the Almighty accomplishes His will. Your task is to deliver the messages faithfully. His task is to ensure they reach every soul that might receive them."

Before John could ask further questions, the angel began to fade, his final words echoing in the study: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. The barriers must be in place before the first event. Let Jackson Simeon know that divine authority supports this requirement."

The room returned to normal temperature as Raphael vanished, leaving John alone with the enormous implications of what he had just learned. He immediately reached for his laptop and initiated a Zoom call to his core advisory team.

Within minutes, the faces of Anthony, Father Giuseppe, Father Mark, Dimitri, and Jackson Simeon appeared on his screen. Each man could see from John's expression that something significant had occurred.

"Gentlemen, I've just received another angelic visitation from Raphael with instructions for our upcoming events."

John recounted the angel's warning about organized opposition and the requirement for physical barriers around each venue. He explained the 150-cubit distance and the limitation to two entry passages per stadium.

Jackson Simeon, ever practical, immediately began taking notes. "Mr. Foster, that's going to require significant construction at each site. We're talking about barriers extending nearly 250 feet around the perimeter of massive stadiums. The logistics alone..."

"Use concrete highway barriers," John interjected, the solution coming to him with sudden clarity. "The kind they use in highway construction—simple, effective, and designed for rapid deployment and removal."

Jackson's expression brightened as he understood the practicality of the suggestion. "Jersey barriers... that's brilliant, actually. They're heavy enough to be stable, but they can be moved quickly with the right equipment. Most construction companies have them in inventory, and transportation departments rent them regularly."

"How much will it cost?" Anthony asked, his legal mind immediately focusing on contractual and financial implications.

Jackson consulted his tablet, calculating quickly. "Robber Baron Stadium in Dallas... that's roughly a three-mile perimeter. We'd need about 6,000 barriers at 12 feet each to create the 225-foot clearance around the entire stadium. At roughly $50 per barrier for rental, plus transportation and placement... maybe $300,000 for Dallas. Multiply that by nine venues..."

"Under three million dollars total," Anthony concluded. "Much more manageable than custom construction, and we can move them around easily if needed."

Father Giuseppe leaned forward on his screen. "John, did the angel explain how these barriers would actually function? Concrete barriers can still be climbed over."

"Raphael said I would pray before each event, and God would establish a barrier that evil cannot cross. The physical barriers are apparently just markers—the real protection will be divine.”

Dimitri rubbed his jaw thoughtfully. "That explains why two specific entry points are required. It's not about crowd control—it's about creating a filtering system. Only those with proper intentions can enter."

"But what about the angel's claim that everyone on Earth will have the opportunity to hear your messages?" Father Mark asked. "Our streaming infrastructure is sophisticated, but it can't reach everyone."

John shook his head. "Raphael said all things are possible with God and that I shouldn't concern myself with the methods. He made it clear that ensuring global access is God's responsibility, not ours."

The team sat in thoughtful silence, contemplating the implications. They were accustomed to miraculous interventions by now, but the scope of what the angel had described was staggering.

Jackson broke the silence. "Jersey barriers will actually make permitting much easier. I can tell authorities it's temporary traffic control for crowd management—something every major event uses. No special approvals required."

"What about media coverage?" Dimitri asked. "Barriers like this will generate significant attention and speculation."

Father Giuseppe nodded. "Which may be part of God's plan. Controversy often draws people to seek truth for themselves."

John felt the familiar weight of divine responsibility settling on his shoulders once again. Each revelation from Raphael expanded the scope of his mission while deepening his reliance on supernatural intervention.

"Gentlemen, we have three weeks to implement these requirements. Jackson, begin immediately with sourcing concrete barriers for all nine venues. Everyone else, prepare for opposition unlike anything we've faced so far. If the angel is warning us about organized resistance, we should expect attempts to stop us that go far beyond bureaucratic interference."

As the Zoom call ended, John returned to his translated sermons, now understanding that delivering God's messages would require not just divine inspiration, but divine protection against forces that would stop at nothing to prevent the faithful remnant from hearing the truth they desperately needed. He saw now that some editing would be required.

The real battle was about to begin.
